Job Summary:
Provides administrative and clinical leadership with responsibility for developing policies and providing subject matter expertise in a specific area of specialization as follows: Automation, Ambulatory Care/Transition of Care, Infectious Disease, Behavioral Health, Critical Care, Oncology and Pain Management. Exercises discretion and independent judgement on matters within the area of specialization, performing this function under general supervision. Includes consultative or operational duties to support positive patient outcomes through cost effective drug therapy. Applies substantial knowledge of the job and experience to complete a wide range of activities with varying difficulty.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy: Required
- PGY-1 and PGY-2, or equivalent experience: Required
- Three years' hospital pharmacist experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Pharmacist license in the state of practice: Required
- Board Certification (if available in area of expertise) or will be acquired within one (1) year of employment: Required
- Registered Pharmacist (RPH): Required
Essential Functions:
- Assesses and provides direction to optimize pharmaceutical care programs. Responsible for clinical care content in each specialty. Contributes to formulary management in area of expertise.
- Provides consultative services to healthcare providers and patients to optimize medication management. Serves as a subject matter expert to physicians, pharmacists, nurses and patients, as well as clinical committees.
- Mentors and trains staff in area of expertise. Creates competency assessment tools and is responsible for competency assessment programs.
- Participates in the development and implementation of treatment guidelines, protocols, clinical pathways and pharmacy patient care initiatives for the system as appropriate.
- Participates in Quality Assurance and reporting programs. Assesses clinical utilization and outcomes data.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Pay Range: The estimated base pay for this position is $139,004 to $208,505. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through years of experience, differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
