Fishing Guide

Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable fishing guides to lead clients on fishing excursions, providing an unforgettable outdoor experience. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for fishing, a deep understanding of local waterways, and the ability to educate and engage clients of all skill levels. As a Fishing Guide, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, enjoyment, and success during each fishing trip. Our company serves the Alberton Gorge (whitewater fishing), fly fishing, and family trips.

Duties

• Lead guided fishing trips on the Blackfoot and Clark Fork Rivers, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
• Educate clients on fishing techniques, local fish species, and environmental conservation practices in both conventional and fly fishing set ups.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and inquiries throughout the trip.
• Maintain equipment and ensure all necessary gear is available and in good working condition.
• Communicate effectively with clients to enhance their fishing experience, including offering tips and strategies for successful catches.
• Demonstrate leadership by managing group dynamics and ensuring a positive atmosphere during excursions.
• Manage time efficiently to adhere to schedules while maximizing fishing opportunities.
• Engage in public speaking when leading group sessions or workshops about fishing techniques or local ecology as well as a prepared safety talk prior to departure.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Fishing Guide or in a similar role is preferred
• Strong knowledge of local fish species, habitats, and effective fishing methods.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate clients effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing groups in outdoor settings.
• Strong time management skills to ensure timely departures and returns from trips.
• A passion for the outdoors and commitment to promoting sustainable fishing practices.
