Audio-Visual (AV) Technician

Reports to: AV Manager

Summary

The Audio-Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for ensuring all AV equipment, devices, and systems are accounted for and working properly. They are also responsible for ensuring proper

set-up of equipment before events and knowing how to operate, repair, and clean all equipment as necessary.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assists in providing technical support and setup of AV equipment for all areas of the resort including the Park, Waterpark, Hotel, Spectators, and the Campground
  • Operational knowledge of the event space lighting, control systems, projection screens, video projectors, and house sound systems
  • Set-up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot AV equipment
  • Ensures that AV storage areas and related electrical rooms or panels are kept clean and orderly
  • Notifies AV Manager of any issues with electrical lines, panels, controls, or equipment
  • Ensures AV systems and equipment are working properly labeled, repaired, and cleaned when necessary
  • Works with Events Team when necessary to ensure proper AV setup for meetings and events
  • Protects guest belongings and turns in lost and found items immediately
  • Reports maintenance or safety concerns to AV Manager in a timely manner
  • Cooperates with other departments to provide a positive guest experience
  • Promptly notifies the security team or the operator of team member and guest injuries or emergencies
  • Completes additional duties as assigned by the AV Manager.

Requirements

Education: None

Languages: English

Skills:

  • Excellent computer proficiency
  • Related work experience or a technical degree/diploma
  • Knowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance of AV systems and equipment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle pressure while maintaining professionalism
  • Ability to withstand heat and humidity
  • Work in all areas of the property including working outside and climbing scaffolds and ladders
  • Ability to work longer hours when necessary to meet deadlines
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reprioritize activities
  • Is subject to frequent loud noises and vibrations
  • Regularly work with motorized equipment, vehicles, and machinery
  • Consistent communication with team members and other departments
  • Subject to the handling of and exposure to chemicals, detergents, and cleaners (age restrictions apply)
  • Subject to constant repetitive motion
  • Continually able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to carry equipment up to 100 feet
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Frequent kneeling, bending, twisting motions
  • Often squatting and crouching
  • Consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
  • Ability to see differences between colors and brightness
  • See details of objects that are more than a few feet away
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
