Job Summary

At Science and Sensory, Adventures with Autism (AwA), we believe in changing lives through compassionate, evidence-based care. As a Behavior Technician, you will provide one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism, ranging from 18 months to 13 years old. Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you'll help clients build essential life skills, promote positive behaviors, and create meaningful progress toward their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy to clients under the supervision of a BCBA.
  • Build rapport with clients and families to foster trust and effective communication.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans with consistency and care.
  • Use evidence-based behavior management strategies to support positive change.
  • Track client behavior and skill acquisition data during each session.
  • Collaborate with your clinical team to review progress and adjust programming.
  • Encourage development in communication, social, play, and adaptive skills.
  • Support a positive, safe, and structured environment for every child.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and professional training sessions.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Assist with documentation and progress reports as needed.
  • Complete the 40-hour RBT training and become certified within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s in psychology, education, or a related field preferred)
  • Prior experience with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping others
  • Ability to maintain consistent full-time hours: M–F, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
  • Willingness to complete RBT training and obtain Oregon Health License (AwA covers cost)

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $19.00/hour
  • Base Salary: $36,556 annually (before taxes and deductions)
  • Raise Eligibility: Eligible for first raise 90 days after hire; up to 3 raises in the first year
  • Annual Review: Up to 5% cost-of-living raise based on performance

Additional Details

  • RBT Training: Must complete a 40-hour online course in the first 2 weeks
