Position Summary
The Research Director focuses exclusively on investment management and practices for integration into financial planning services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with the Investment Team to create and manage workflows and standard operating procedures.
- Manage a series of internal documents designed to organize and document data related to the firm’s investment strategies, including coordination with the trading team.
- Managed a series of internal documents designed to organize and document data related to resources related to investor education, marketing, and client communication.
- Update and manage internal reporting and analytics systems that provide investment analytics related to the firm’s investment strategies.
- Administer ongoing investment due diligence on investment products currently utilized in or being considered for inclusion in the firm’s investment strategies.
- Participate in development and drafting of investment commentary.
- Facilitate security selection for certain investment strategies that utilize individual fixed income and structured product securities.
- Coordinate with other staff members (Operations, Compliance, Financial Planning) on an as-needed basis regarding specific questions/requests from prospective financial advisors
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics
- Series 65 or 66 license
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in the financial services industry
- Interest in pursuing Charter Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), or Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designations
- Strong analytical skills and advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
- Advanced technical writing experience to produce precise, well-structured and highly-detailed communication
- Comfortable with office technology and software applications (eg: Microsoft Office products, Morningstar, general computer navigation, etc.)
- Desire to be part of a flexible, team-oriented environment and contribute to the aggressive growth of a small business
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
