Fast-paced manufacturer is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to work on process and project engineering tasks in their high-volume, process-oriented manufacturing plant. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks :
- Overseeing manufacturing processes and making improvements
- Troubleshooting equipment and processes in an assigned manufacturing area
- Developing and improving line layouts and making line modifications
- Overseeing timelines and budgets for up to 4-6 projects at a time related to continuous improvement, capital equipment, facilities, etc.
- Monitoring production metrics and KPIs
- Partnering with quality engineers to determine RCA and resolve quality and operational issues
- Working closely with hourly and salary staff to achieve production and engineering goals
- Completing mechanical troubleshooting and assisting the maintenance team as needed
- Determining process capacity for new manufacturing processes
- Designing fixtures, gauges and equipment specifications in 2D software
- Conducting project proposals and completing cost justifications
- Participating in Kaizen events throughout the plant
- Other duties as directed by management

REQUIREMENTS for the Chemical Process Engineer :
1. Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering 2. Minimum of 1-3 years of process engineering experience in a similar manufacturing environment
3. Experience working in related process-oriented manufacturing environments, including chemical, coating, refinery, food and / or beverage industries 4. Experience overseeing capital equipment projects
5. Mechanical aptitude6. Basic project management, including overseeing project timelines
7. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required :
1. Experience overseeing capital equipment project budgets 2. ERP experience
3. PLCs, robotics and / or automation experience4. Lean Certification5. Experience overseeing contractors 6. 2D and / or 3D modeling experience 7. P&ID diagrams 8. Experience completing CI functions, including scrap reductions, improving line efficiencies, etc. Why work for this organization :
