Job Summary
Join our team as a full time CASA Coordinator/Recruiter to recruit, screen, train, and supervise volunteers to speak in the best interest of abused and neglected children in the court system. To build and manage relationships with educational partners and provide professional support, in partnership with our community and schools, to support volunteers with the goal to improve educational outcomes for all children served by CASA. To ensure children involved with the CASA program receive sound advocacy and ensure that the training program is sufficient to meet the training needs of volunteers.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree preferred and/or experience in volunteer services or marketing
- Knowledge of social media, Teams, Microsoft Office, Canva
- Ability to effectively communicate with and empower volunteers to perform their roles successfully
- Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crises relating to child abuse and neglect
- Skills in the following areas: decision-making, creativity, initiative, innovation, leadership, foresight, willingness to increase responsibilities to achieve program goals and commitment to agency goals
Job Duties:
Under the direction of the CASA Manager,
- Recruit prospective CASA volunteers within 10 county area through a variety of avenues including media advertising and community organizations
- Schedule speaking opportunities and outreach events in the community with a focus on recruiting new CASA volunteers
- Research sources for prospective CASA volunteers to broaden the public’s awareness of the CASA mission and diversify CASA’s recruitment activities.
- Attend community fairs and events
- Support and host CASA Informational Sessions
- Assist with processing of applications, reviewing of references, scheduling/conducting of interviews and processing/documenting background checks with prospective CASA volunteers.
- Track volunteers’ readiness and completion of program requirements.
- Assist in training prospective CASA volunteers using the approved National CASA training curriculum
- Manage volunteers’ correspondence on online training database.
- Assign CASA volunteers to cases referred by the court, taking care to match the advocate with the child
- Assist in maintaining records of all CASA cases and volunteers
- Attend court hearings and meetings associated with CASA cases appropriately
- Ongoing contact with CASA volunteers, keeping CASA volunteers apprised of upcoming court dates and other meetings
- File and distribute CASA reports to the court
- Be available for volunteers at times other than scheduled office hours
- Provide ongoing educational support to volunteers by scheduling coordinating and attending training and education programs
- Collaborate with school professionals
- Other duties as assigned
