The Toivo Program Manager is responsible for the success and advancement of the Toivo initiative. This role involves organizing, scheduling, and overseeing Toivo Center in-house classes and Toivo Community classes at DMHAS sites according to contractual deliverables while contributing to monthly in-house and community classes.
This role oversees the delivery of all in-house and community offerings, ensuring they are provided in alignment with the principles of cultural humility, gender affirming, trauma responsive, recovery-oriented, inclusive, peer-led, and holistic. It is expected that team members prioritize the lived experiences of all participants, while considering the collective care of the community we are funded to serve.
The Program Manager will manage day-to-day operations and ensure program goals align with the mission of the organization. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential, as the role requires balancing administrative responsibilities with direct engagement with community.
FULL-TIME EXEMPT EMPLOYMENT:
37.5 regularly scheduled hours per week, annual salary of $52,000, and a 180-day introductory period with Performance
Evaluation at the conclusion of this period. Inclusive of benefits outlined in the Advocacy Unlimited Personnel Handbook.
Reports to: Toivo Director
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Assist the Toivo Director with documentation and reporting.
- Onsite Monday-Friday from 9-5pm, unless otherwise scheduled to provide a community class and up to 2 evenings or weekends a month.
- Facilitate a minimum of 4 in-house and 2 community offerings, monthly
- Coordinate and expand Toivo’s monthly in-house and community class calendars across the state of Connecticut.
- Track and monitor contracted services for both in-house and community offerings using the monthly cost calendar.
- Document and report services in adherence with contractual deliverables.
- Maintain in-house and community deliverables tracking document including date, location, facilitator, and number of participants in attendance.
- Manage independent contractors, including recruiting, onboarding, documentation, and scheduling monthly in-house and community classes, workshops, and events.
- Collect, review, and submit monthly in-house and community class independent contractor invoices, including check requests, to the Toivo Director.
- Carry out communication and scheduling with community sites, including maintaining up to date records.
- Review, finalize, and submit promotional material for all offerings to the Toivo Director.
- Create and distribute quarterly Toivo offerings calendars for community sites.
- Carry out quality assurance on an ongoing basis both in-house and with community sites.
- Welcome & greet people as they enter the space.
- Provide 1:1 peer-support, as needed, to community who attend inhouse offerings.
- Coordinate an annual Contractor Appreciation Event.
- Meet all internal accountability standards.
- Adhere to all contractual obligations.
- Participate in organizational meetings and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study, or equivalent work experience
- Certified Recovery Support Specialist, or eligible for certification * Certified in a holistic, mind-body modality.
- Bilingual, Spanish speaking preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Personal experience overcoming challenges related to mental health, addiction, and/or trauma.
- Motivated to advance collaborative decision making and collective accountability
- Ability to think strategically, creatively solve problems, exercise good judgment and lead
- Demonstrated experience in program development and management.
- Demonstrates leadership by example to support both the organization and the community served.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have a clean driving record, up to date Motor Vehicle Insurance and Driver’s License
- Must have a reliable vehicle for statewide travel
