Tenant Support Specialist
ADVOCAP’s Homeless Prevention program is accepting applications for a Tenant Support Specialist for Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Winnebago Counties. Our Tenant Support Specialist will assist by providing our tenants with wraparound supportive services. This will include case management, comprehensive assessment, personalized planning, collaborative service coordination, and continuous monitoring to help individuals increase their economic mobility and stability so they can remain stably housed.
Responsibilities Include:
- Respond to individuals and families in crisis and assist them in addressing basic needs while in our housing units
- Work with individuals and families in establishing their plan for self-sufficiency long term
- Coach and motivate participants along their path to self-sufficiency
- Connect participants to appropriate community resources and document the individual’s needs, plans, services provided, and outcomes achieved
- Maintain records documenting participant progress
- Assess and refer participants to appropriate internal and external programs
- Establish trusting relationships with tenants and community resources
Job Requirements:
- This position will require a bachelor’s degree in human services or social services, and 2 years of previous case management work experience or an equivalent combination is required to meet job standards
- Possess an understanding of poverty and the ability to be non-judgmental with those served
- Ability to develop positive, growth-directed relationships with individuals and families in poverty
- Knowledge of and experience in utilizing community resources to help people in need
- Acceptable drug screen and comprehensive background check required
- Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic
- MS Office experience preferred
Salary and Benefits:
This full-time position will work 36 hours per week with a flexible schedule between Monday — Friday with occasional nights and weekends. The entry/starting wage for this position is $21.46 per hour, negotiable based on experience. This full-time position will have access to health, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, vacation, sick and holiday pay, and our employer contribution 401k.
