What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Pathologist position at Advocare Brand?
The successful candidate will have well-developed competencies in the assessment and treatment of all aspects of care, including:
- Professional voice
- Structural/ organic changes
- Neurogenic disorders
- Gender/identity-affirming voice care
- Upper airway disorders, including exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction, irritable larynx syndrome, and subglottic stenosis
- Regular interaction with patients who have a wide variety of dysphagia diagnoses
As a member of the multidisciplinary outpatient team, this SLP will have experience performing the following skills relevant to patients with specific problems:
- Comprehensive clinical assessment and interviewing
- Physical examination including flexible laryngeal stroboscopy and Fiber optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) - Willing to train strong candidate.
- Instrumental assessment of voice and upper airway disorder, including acoustic measurement of voice
- Individualized treatment planning for voice and respiratory retraining therapy
- Perioperative care of the singing and speaking voice, and upper-airway issues.
- Skilled and culturally responsive care for a wide variety of patients, their families, and other care givers.
