Advocare Ear Nose & Throat Medical Associates is seeking to add a nurse practitioner to join our team. We are a community-based ENT practice established close to 30 years in the Hackettstown area serving Warren and Sussex counties, as well as western Morris county and some northeastern Pennsylvania. We provide general ENT services treating adults and children using first a listening approach then forming a team with the patient. The practice also includes the subspecialties of Facial Plastic, Rhinology, Pediatrics, Otology and Allergy. There is on site audiology, allergy services and hearing aid dispensing. We are seeking an energetic candidate to help us meet the demand in our growing community. Experience is preferred but there will also be onsite training.

Nurse Practitioner Essential Functions:
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing general and preventative care, conducting check-ups, treating illnesses, ordering lab tests and prescribing medication for children and adults. Helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations.
- Performing head and neck examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses.
- Ordering diagnostic tests, such as hearing tests, radiology, allergy tests
- Performing some office minor procedures as deemed appropriate by the practice physician.
- Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
- Detecting changes in patients' health and modifying treatment plans, as needed.
- Educating and counseling patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care
- Facilitating the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
- Planning and managing patient care according to the patient’s needs
- Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, etc.
- Actively maintaining knowledge of current medical research and trends
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare workers, and collaborate with team members
- Must be able to think critically, evaluate various options to treat a condition and then identify the one he or she decides will have the best outcome.
- Maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced yet friendly environment
- Must be well organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion concerning health service records and information
Education and Experience:
- Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse licensure required
- Graduate degree from an accredited nursing program, such as a Master of Science in nursing
- Must have a current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the state of practice
