Job Overview
Seeking an experienced, highly-skilled Registered Dietitian to launch a new arm of our obesity and preventive cardiology practice. We are dedicated to improving patient outcomes and reduce cardiovascular risk through evidence-based care, focusing on hyperlipidemia, hypertriglyceridemia, obesity and type 2 diabetes management.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' needs and develop personalized care plans and nutritional counseling to support weight loss and overall health goals.
- Conduct 1-hour initial appointments and 30-minute follow-ups.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of dietary interventions, making adjustments as necessary.
- Design care plans for weekly or biweekly visits over 4-6 weeks, transitioning to monthly or bimonthly maintenance sessions thereafter.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding dietary choices, meal planning, and nutrition-related health issues.
- Collaborate with physician to integrate nutritional care into overall patient treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, care plans and progress notes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with advancements in dietetics literature, nutrition science and relevant healthcare regulations.
- Accurately code and document visits to ensure appropriate billing and reimbursement.
- Attend conferences to advance knowledge, network and have a pulse on the field (mandatory).
Experience
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required. Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.
- Strong clinical experience in managing hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular disease, obesity, hypertriglyceridemia, and type 2 diabetes. Extensive previous experience in these fields is required to be considered.
- Excellent mastery of current evidence-based literature and ability to evaluate and synthesize new research.
- Knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and health is essential.
- Proficiency in medical coding and billing practices.
- Exceptional communication and counseling skills.
Schedule & Flexibility:
- Minimum of 5 hours per day, at least 4 days per week. Maximum 28 hours weekly.
- Flexible schedule, can set own schedule in advance including night hours, day hours, non-consecutive hours, whatever works as long as minimum hours is met.

Compensation:
- Productivity-based (performance-driven) model.
- Up to $105 per hour, with potential for higher compensation for exceptional candidates.
