Certified Medical Assistant Responsibilities :
The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties in a professional manner. Ability to competently and skillfully perform all clinical and clerical functions including, but not limited to : vital signs, patient interview, electronic documentation, screening tools, lab / specimen prep, point of care collection and processing, filing, processing records, answering phones, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments and processing referrals. Must provide age-appropriate care in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional / developmental age of the patient served.
- Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited to obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms
- Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating
- Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary
- Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
- Counseling patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about the treatment
- Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families
- Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
- Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned
