Job Title: CT Technologist
The role of a CT Technologist is crucial in delivering high-quality radiographic procedures to patients. This position involves working closely with radiologists, patients, and other staff members to ensure accurate diagnoses and excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
- Position patients correctly, select optimal exposure factors, and provide radiation protection and safety according to prescribed methods.
- Identify patients, label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure exam accuracy.
- Assist radiologists, communicate with patients, and consult with other staff members as needed.
- Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies, enter patient information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes.
Requirements:
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
- Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day.
- Must be able to perform physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying up to 40 lbs, pushing/pulling with 30 lbs of force, and performing sliding transfers.
- May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.
