Job Summary:
This position is responsible for evaluating patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and their impact on daily living activities.
The Occupational Therapist will establish a plan of care, implement individualized treatment, and monitor patient progress to achieve optimal outcomes.
Key responsibilities include interpreting physician referrals, providing assistive devices, collaborating with healthcare teams, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Additional duties may include supervising occupational therapy assistants and students, participating in performance improvement activities, and pursuing continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Licensed OT in the State of Illinois or Wisconsin
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Intermediate computer skills and excellent communication skills
Working Conditions
Occupational Therapists must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling with 30 lbs. of force, and performing repetitive hand movements.
Exposure to electrical and chemical hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, requires the ability to wear protective clothing as needed. Travel may be required, exposing employees to road and weather hazards.
