**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a float therapist. As a float therapist, you will have the opportunity to work in various settings, providing exceptional patient care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, operating specialized ventilators, and assisting physicians with bedside or other procedures.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Provide high-quality patient care utilizing respiratory therapy processes, including pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, hemodynamic values, laboratory values, and correlates blood gases and electrolytes.
- Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues.
- Assist physicians with bedside or other procedures as applicable to facility.
- Administer medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient-driven respiratory protocols as prescribed.
- Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment as necessary and identify the need for service and/or repair.
- Educate and instruct patients in purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management.
- Facilitate clinical problem-solving and collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing physician direction.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
- An active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months OR an active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC if credential received prior to January 1, 2023.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
