Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Aurora Medical Center-Summit in Nashotah, Wisconsin.
The successful candidate will have experience working in an operating room environment, with knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques and the ability to maintain a sterile field. They will also be responsible for assisting surgeons during procedures, preparing and draping the surgical area, and providing a clean and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provides a safe and efficient environment for optimal patient care.
- Utilizes aseptic surgical techniques to prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Assists surgeons during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed.
- Maintains a sterile field, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly sterilized and stored.
- Notifies appropriate staff of equipment and supply problems.
- Transports patients and equipment as needed.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifts up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
- Lifts up to 20 lbs over head.
- Carries up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
- Pushes/pulls with 30 lbs of force.
- Performs a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood, and body fluids.
- Must wear masks, gloves, goggles, and gowns.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during work shift.
