About the Position
As an Imaging Technologist Level I at Advocate Aurora Health, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound equipment competently to perform various procedures, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.
- Review patient medical records, obtain necessary clinical information, and ensure exam accuracy by comparing requisitions to physicians' orders.
- Position patients safely and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures, adjusting factors as needed to attain optimal images.
- Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, and communicate findings to appropriate physicians, ensuring effective patient care.
Required Skills
- Advanced training in Sonography from an accredited or approved program.
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by ARDMS within 3 months.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA within 6 months.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
