The Director of Optimization and Capacity Building for clinical impact reports directly to The Vice President of Clinical Impact and is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that enhance organizational and community capacity to address healthcare for all. This leadership role will focus on strategic optimization of resources, initiatives, and partnerships aimed at advancing clinical impact across diverse populations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal teams, community stakeholders, and the broader health system to develop and execute innovative solutions and programs that promote equitable health outcomes.
This role will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing innovative training programs and learning initiatives focused on promoting clinical impact within our organization. This role will translate data, intelligence, analytics and best practices into actionable playbooks and roadmaps, create engaging content for clinicians, care teams and patients, and leverage insights from patient screening and clinical data to drive the development of new learning modules tailored to improve patient outcomes and address healthcare for all. The Director will also help in co-designing patient, clinician and community facing educational and training programs related to clinical impact and operational excellence.
Major Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the development of a comprehensive clinical impact strategy that aligns with organizational goals and supports the various clinical service lines. Identify areas for optimization within existing programs and initiatives, proposing actionable recommendations to enhance efficacy and reach.
- Create and oversee training and development programs aimed at increasing the skills and knowledge of staff, clinicians, patients and community partners in community impact best practices. Design and facilitate workshops, seminars, and other opportunities to bolster stakeholder engagement and community collaboration.
- Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of clinical impact programs and initiatives. Utilize data-driven insights to inform continuous quality improvement efforts. Collaborate with clinical quality, patient safety and patient experience teams on community impact goals and performance.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with community organizations, health agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach to community impact. Act as a liaison to ensure alignment on clinical impact goals and strategies. Monitor and analyze health policies related to clinical impact, informing the government affairs team of advocacy priorities that will improve health outcomes for marginalized and disenfranchised populations, particularly in rural and urban areas. Promote awareness and understanding of clinical impact issues across the organization, advocating for policies and practices that support equitable care delivery. Serve as a resource for clinicians and care teams on clinical impact related questions and challenges.
- Identify funding opportunities and develop grant proposals to support clinically focused initiatives. Oversee budget management related to clinical impact programs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Develop and maintain educational materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, and playbooks that outline key strategies and interventions to promote clinical impact. Create resources that are accessible and user-friendly for diverse audiences, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Health Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in health education, training, and/or program management, patient experience and/or clinician experience, with a focus on health equity, including 3 years of management-level experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Strong project management experience in clinical related operations preferred with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of health disparities, social determinants of health, and culturally competent care practices.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and adult learning principles to build capacity and improve knowledge, behavior, attitudes and practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficient in data analysis and interpretation with the ability to transform insights into actionable learning modules and playbooks.
- Knowledge of community-based participatory research, implementation science and inclusive framework development
