What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Privileging Analyst Senior position at Advocate Aurora?
Responsible for the development and maintenance of clinical privileging criteria. Focus is on the creation of uniform privileging criteria across the unified medical staff. Facilitates maintenance of privilege delineations to assure that they reflect current clinical practices and industry standards. Assists in the development of corresponding privileging evaluation. Serves as a resource for the evaluation of submitted criteria to support a clinician’s clinical privilege requests.
Supports in the development, evaluation, and decision making involved with Clinical Privileging.
Works with management and physician leadership to perform environmental surveillance that identifies new requirements or industry trends that may impact methods of operation of the clinical privileging function or internal partners.
Support medical staff services professionals with the evaluation of submitted case logs and supporting documentation provided by clinicians in support of their clinical privilege requests.
Facilitates maintenance of privilege delineation to assure that they reflect current clinical practices and industry standards.
Responsible for liaison and coordination with credentialing/privileging software vendor and information technology, when modification to software set up, operating procedures or management approach are required to optimize operational leverage and business process task integration with the software.
Licenses & Certifications
Credentialing Specialist, Certified Provider (CPCS) issued by the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS)
Degrees
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or equivalent knowledge
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 5 years of experience in medical staff, quality, risk, utilization management, and/or care management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to interact effectively with leadership and medical staff professionals, internal staff and representatives of public agencies and businesses inspiring confidence and credibility of process and work product. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to compose letters, policy statements, procedure manuals and reports on own initiative; ability to organize complex statistical and narrative reports, charts and exhibits into a complete document suitable for publication and distribution. Ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects and tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic and complex environment. Flexibility to accommodate unstructured situations and changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with short timelines, to prioritize and organize work, and to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner. Proficiency in software applications to include use of menu driven, word-processing and spreadsheet applications. Extensive experience in Microsoft Word. Ability to edit material and ensure correct punctuation, spelling and grammar. Ability to work independently and use independent judgment. Excellent customer relations skills.
