- Coordinates and implements community education programs and events. Implements community education and outreach events, including logistical coordination, for both on and offsite setups. Provides staffing support as appropriate; oversees calendars/schedules and completion of setups.
- May chair or participate in the Community Outreach Committee. Acts as a consultant to staff and committees who are developing community education and outreach projects. Functions as a representative to local agencies and coordinates communication with community partners or other referral sources.
- Works with Business & Market Development to prioritize community education activities/projects, and to provide input to allow for the appropriate promotion of community education programs and resources to community agencies and audiences. Monitors projects to eliminate the duplication between departments.
- Coordinates healthier communities initiative and community education with marketing promotional activities.
- Promotes awareness of services offered. Assists to create business development and marketing tactics to increase awareness of programs and services.
- Participates in committees and meetings as assigned by providing communications, management and performance of required tasks to keep effort moving.
- Updates professional staff regarding programs through input to hospital and clinic publications.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Aurora institutions and departments. Networks and maintains professional growth. Continually expands knowledge base regarding program issues affecting health care. Initiates contacts with other professionals to establish a network base.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation and reporting of information.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Communications, or
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Education or related field.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in community education, event planning, or business development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Occasional travel results in exposure to related road and weather hazards.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Exposed to a normal office environment.
