What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Management System Analyst position at Advocate Aurora?
Major Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with key stakeholders, develops requirements for new research management systems and the deployment of new modules within existing systems. Works with IT, project managers, and the system vendor to set up demonstrations and evaluations, as well as evaluate the adaptability of new systems and modules. Participate in negotiations with the vendor.
- Manages timelines and facilitate discussions surrounding system and module implementation timelines. Oversees the migration and curation of data from existing sources.
- Acts as ARI’s electronic medical record (EMR) software expert to facilitate integration of research systems with the EMR and other software systems, to improve data quality (no manual transcription) and decrease duplication of effort (manual data entry vs. automation).
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for research systems to ensure common efficient workflows are followed. Performs quality control measures to ensure accuracy and consistency of data. Contributes to quality assurance monitoring.
- Oversees and manages security and access for the research systems. Creates and maintains policies for research system access.
- Manages upgrades to research systems. Coordinates the evaluation of all upgrades in test environments with end-users and key stakeholders, including integration components with other appropriate research and Aurora IT systems. Assesses current policies and procedures, and updates as needed to appropriately reflect all current upgrade information. Communicates upgrades to system end-users and trains end-users on how upgrades may affect their current workflows.
- Acts as key liaison to internal Aurora departments regarding research systems. Provides feedback to vendors regarding system enhancements that could increase efficiencies and usability of the system for ARI.
- Develops training curriculums aligned with ARI policies and procedures for new and existing users. Coordinates training of system users.
- Works with system users and ARI leadership to assess existing and new opportunities to support research through the use of technology. Develops and maintains dashboards and reports for research stakeholders.
- Acts as an escalation point for system users to troubleshoot issues and problems. Partners with users, ARI management team, and Aurora IT to diagnose and resolves system issues. Serves as the primary point of contact with vendors.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Information Technology or related field.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in systems or technical project management.
