Position Summary:
The Nursing Home Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining daily and long-term staff schedules for our nursing department. This position ensures adequate staffing levels while considering staff availability, resident needs, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage nursing staff schedules in alignment with facility needs and labor regulations
Maintain accurate records of staff availability, PTO requests, and shift changes
Communicate schedule changes promptly and professionally to team members
Coordinate with department managers to fill call-outs or last-minute scheduling gaps
Monitor staffing ratios to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
Support onboarding of new hires with orientation schedules
Maintain confidentiality and promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant certification a plus
Prior experience in healthcare scheduling, especially in long-term care or skilled nursing, preferred
Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Smartlinx, Kronos, OnShift) and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
