OVERVIEW

JOB PURPOSE
Domestic violence case manager provides support and advocacy to individuals experiencing domestic violence, such as crisis intervention, safety planning, access to community resources, legal assistance, counseling, and case management to help them achieve safety and stability in their lives, all while maintaining strict confidentiality and trauma-informed practice.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field or a high school diploma with over 5 years work experience in a criminal justice setting.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Candidates should be creative, highly motivated, and able to thrive under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to function in a fast-paced team environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct initial interview with clients
- Conduct a financial screen on clients for treatment.
- Assess client needs to ensure proper treatment placement and/or referral. (i.e., language, victim relationship, etc)
- Assist & refer clients needing services to the Social Services Department when necessary.
- Conduct monthly report on probationers, conduct urinalysis testing as needed.
- Prepare for and be present for Domestic Violence Drug Court Calendars on weekly basis. Prepare reports for Domestic Violence Judges and State Attorney’s Office.
- Request compliance reports from local Batterer’s Intervention, Substance Abuse, and Mental Health treatment providers and update client’s file with updated report.
- Work closely with Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts, and the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
- Assist unit achieving ST & Fee Collection goals identified yearly.
- Misc. duties as determined by Unit Manager
Additionally:
- Case Management responsibilities to include:
- Daily reviews
- Refer clients to mental health centers, substance abuse centers and for psychological evaluation when ordered.
- Appear in court for set calendars as needed.
- Post all client/case information into system.
- Filing, returning client calls daily
- Send out ITR’s as needed
- Contact treatment agencies as required for case management purposes.

The employee performs work in a normal office setting within a reasonable environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to perform local and non-local travel.
NOTE: Hours for this position are determined by the chosen applicant and the supervisor. Minimum amount of hours per week: 25-29. This position is PART TIME so you will not be eligible for benefits.
