What are the responsibilities and job description for the Authorizations Specialist position at ADVOCATE RADIATION ONCOLOGY?
We are currently looking for an experienced insurance verification specialist for a radiation oncology office.
The responsibilities of the insurance authorization specialist wlll include, but are not limited to the following:
- ensuring scheduled procedures are verified as covered through the patients insurance.
- verifying insurance coverage, eligibility, benefits, obtaining authorizations and pre-certs as required by the individual insurance company for any appointments or procedures that the patient may be scheduled.
- entering complete verification, eligibility and benefit information in the patient accounting system to include the date, time and method used to obtain the verification/eligibility information for each patient.
- Communicating with the physicians to assure they are aware of insurance status on their patients and whether or not they may proceed with plan.
- Working closely with the billing department and assuring that accurate information is relayed to them.
Working in person, in the office with others is required. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
