Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within a dynamic medical environment. Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform routine clinical tasks, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for examinations.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and maintain accurate medication records.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring comfort during visits.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment.
- Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
- Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
- Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
Requirements
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide excellent patient service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is a plus.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.
