Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced House Manager to oversee daily operations at our Assisted Living Home. The House Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position requires excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage all aspects of the home’s operations, including supervising staff, managing resident care, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and manage a team of caregivers and staff, ensuring a high level of care for residents.
- Develop and implement daily schedules, activities, and routines that meet residents' physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being, including medication management, and promptly respond to any medical concerns.
- Assist with meal planning and preparation, catering to dietary preferences and restrictions.
- Maintain an organized inventory of household supplies and manage procurement as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each resident, including care plans, health updates, and personal preferences.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, health regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and external services to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
- Oversee housekeeping and maintenance to ensure the home remains clean, organized, and safe.
- Respond to emergencies and manage crisis situations as needed, including liaising with emergency personnel and family members.
- Proficient in residential cleaning techniques and housekeeping management.
- Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare healthy meals.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for residents and their families.
- Organize family meetings, updates, and provide tours for prospective residents and their families.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role in an assisted living or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding assisted living homes.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient with residents and staff.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Experience with medication management and resident care plans.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or the willingness to obtain upon hire).
- A degree in healthcare management, nursing, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Previous experience in senior care, long-term care, or assisted living is a plus.
