Seeking Direct Support Professional to work the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services
DEFINITION: This is non-professional work providing health care services for individuals with intellectual disabilities to improve their daily living functions in a Client (Client) facility.
Day shift evenings and night shift available
$23 per hour
- Class: DSP - IDD - PA Shift: Days, Evenings and Nights available
- Duties:
- Assist clients with daily tasks like eating, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
- Provide transportation to appointments or activities.
- Support clients in developing social and life skills.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure health and safety.
- Help clients with personal goals and daily routines.
- Record and report on the individual's progress and well-being.
- Promote a positive, respectful environment and maintain confidentiality
Role Description:
An employee in this job assists individuals residing in a Client facility in their daily living activities, physical care, self-help activities, and other tasks related to their individualized treatment plans. Work includes providing information to professional level staff regarding individuals progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of their individualized treatment plans through the completion of documentation. Work may also include assisting individuals with other therapeutic activities under the direction of treatment professionals. Work is performed in accordance with established procedures and is reviewed by a higherlevel supervisor through daily care records, observation of individuals receiving treatment, and conferences with the employee.
- Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-year previous working experience as a Direct Support Professional
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- CPR card issued by the American Heart Association
