Audio-Visual Systems Designer Role
The Audio-Visual Systems Designer at ae-design provides creative and proactive solutions for clients and their projects through the development of drawing packages, system layouts, product specifications, and one-line diagrams.
This role collaborates with other design disciplines to ensure a complete design solution and requires the continued development of telecommunication and security design competency. It takes direction from the Senior Technology Systems Designer and incorporates all design decisions into the design documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all levels of project complexity.
- Continuously learn and gain knowledge on technology design aspects.
- Adhere to quality control procedures related to design objectives.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, staff, and others to prepare programming and conceptual through detailed design solutions.
- Ensure that required materials support the design goals and objectives and conform to applicable regulations and codes.
- Ensure timely completion of design tasks and coordinate with the Senior Technology Designer while meeting individual design budgets and schedules.
- Participate in meetings to build consensus and effectively solve project design issues.
- Review design intent related to construction documents and shop drawings to ensure consistency with client needs and design objectives.
Business Development:
- Contribute project-specific content to select RFPs.
- Be active in industry or client-related organizations.
- Establish relations with peers at the Client's firm to yield repeat work.
Risk Management:
- Assist the Senior Project Manager/Project Manager/Senior Project Designer with any design risk management for assigned projects to help bring to resolution.
Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in engineering, technology, or media arts production related to audio/music or film/video; or comparable experience.
- 3 years of experience in the design and installation of audio, video, and technology systems from conception through construction administration.
- Experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, and Bluebeam to develop drawing sets.
- Knowledge of specification writing in CSI 3-part format.
- Capable of managing time and activities for optimal productivity.
- Timely communication with senior staff regarding project work progression and status.
