AE2S is an award winning civil/environmental engineering firm seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer in Training. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of project management and design engineers developing skills in report preparation, electrical system studies, design tasks including calculations, preparation of plans and specifications, bidding assistance and construction administration, with an emphasis on personal/career development.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical engineering design tasks focused in the areas of water, wastewater, municipal, and process industrial projects.
- Assist in the design of power distribution systems, instrumentation and control (SCADA) systems, access control and security systems, fire alarm systems, and backup power generation systems.
- Assist Project Managers with the development and preparation of reports, studies, plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Assist Project Managers in the design, bidding and construction of electrical systems.
- Maintain project and company tracking information in Deltek software platform.
- Attend internal and external design review meetings and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Fundamentals in Engineering certified or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel as required (less than 10%)
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
- 2 years internship experience related to electrical engineering
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
