This position is accountable for the continuous improvement of service offerings to our Clients by leading innovation of the AE2S Water Resources Practice, maintaining the technical capabilities of our Employee-Owners as best-in-class, and actively pursuing a visible leading presence as experts in support of the firm’s overall strategies. The successful candidate will lead the growth of the Water Resources Practice by providing strategic direction, maintaining an external presence in pursuit of Water Resources opportunities, providing support to projects led by other practices, and assisting Operations Managers (OMs) and other managers in identifying the appropriate resources to be assigned to ensure client satisfaction.
The AE2S Water Resources practice includes urban stormwater planning and design, floodplain management and modeling, and large-scale water supply planning.

- Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $105,300-$148,500 per year DOE (Compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, etc.) This position will remain posted until it is filled.

Responsibilities
Leadership
- Organizes and motivates the team while actively supporting and advocating for Company mission, vision, and initiatives
- Promotes the desired culture of the organization by leading through example
- Draws out the best in employees within the Practice Leader’s (PL's) sphere of influence
- Manages a healthy, constructive tension between project execution and business development and recognizes when adjustment is required to maintain balance
- Establishes high expectations and constructively leads the team in accomplishing the goals
- Develops Practice Strategic Plans with specific strategic initiatives and drives implementation of the strategic initiatives in collaboration with the Practices Director
- Analyzes global decisions for alignment to the strategic plan
- Coordinates with the OMs, PLs, and Client Program Leaders (CPLs) to evaluate business plans associated with geographic growth opportunities and staffing resources
- Coordinates with the Marketing Manager regarding promotional materials and strategic, geographic-specific marketing campaigns
- Supports annual geographic market assessments and development of sales goals for the Practice
- Supports key business development activities and project pursuits
- Manages and coordinates the Practice opportunity pipeline in Vantagepoint
- Manages and coordinates internal and external content, presentations, and professional society engagement
- Implements activities that drive knowledge creation and dissemination
- Assesses the firm’s competitive position relative to other firms and organizations to identify technical approaches that will improve the firm’s market share
- Works with OMs to identify technical resources needed to augment operational staff on pursuit and delivery of technical solutions including providing continued feedback to OMs
- Identifies and clearly describes technical trends to key geographic business development staff
- Evaluates and prioritizes trends relative to our Client’s needs
- Develops strategies to implement prioritized trends to enhance service offerings
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related field
- 8 years of related experience
- 2 years of progressive management experience
- Registration as a Professional Engineer, functional equivalent, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, the public, and other employees
- Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development
- Ability to manage clients, win new clients, and retain clients
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
- Master’s degree in Civil (with a water resources focus) Engineering or other related field
- Proven ability to lead internal initiatives and external projects including functioning productively as part of a project team
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Proven ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members
- Proven ability to maintain and model exemplary reputation for integrity, fairness, reliability, good judgment, and aptitude among peers, management, and staff
