SCOPE OF POSITION/SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Mechanic to support the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing maintenance of production equipment and facility infrastructure. This role requires a strong focus on preventive maintenance, as well as the ability to perform emergency repairs when necessary. The position includes an “On Call” requirement for after-hours support during major breakdowns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Perform a variety of tasks related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of production machinery and facility equipment, with a strong emphasis on forklift and crane repair.
- Respond to emergency and unscheduled breakdowns and execute scheduled maintenance tasks for production equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across a wide range of production machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with CNC machinery, including performing troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, scissor lifts, and other tools as required.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and work orders to effectively complete maintenance and service tasks.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure to minimize downtime.
- Perform plumbing, carpentry, and other general facility maintenance tasks as needed.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and other equipment to complete maintenance and repairs.
- Identify faulty operations or materials and report concerns to the appropriate supervisors.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and keeping work areas clean and organized.
- Availability for on-call duty and after-hours support as needed to address major breakdowns.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial systems.
- Proficient in stick welding and basic welding techniques.
- Experience with 460V three-phase electrical systems, including amperage determination, wire gauge selection, and circuit and conduit installation for new equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair PLC and CNC systems.
- Strong ability to work independently and remain highly motivated.
- Forklift operation experience required.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds, with heavier items as necessary.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet (using scissor lifts, man lifts, or cherry pickers).
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to operate maintenance management software (PM programs), shop for parts, and gather information online.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions.
The company provides Personal Protective Equipment as required by OSHA, including hearing, eye, and head, as needed.
