Geotechnical Project Manager

We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative Senior Geotechnical Project Manager 
to join our client's team in Burlington, Vermont. The Senior Geotechnical Project Manager will work 
closely with a team of staff engineers and scientists on challenging and exciting projects largely 
in urban environments. This is a fast-paced and dynamic position, with opportunities to be 
challenged, contribute to project outcomes, interact routinely with project Principals and clients, 
and is designed to support your professional growth. 

Essential Functions – What You Will Do

 Develop new business opportunities.
 Manage and grow client relationships.
 Prepare proposals and project budgets. 
 Manage project budgets and prepare invoices.
 Manage and supervise staff engineers. 
 Set technical strategy and oversee production of technical work products.
 Plan and coordinate field investigation programs.
 Interpret and analyze field and laboratory data. 
 Coordinate and oversee construction administration for development projects.
 Manage preparation of reports, design plans, data tables, specifications, and other 
deliverables. 
 Formulate conclusions, recommendations, and geotechnical strategies for development 
projects.

 

Qualifications 
 Minimum of ten years relevant experience and a BS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical 
Focus) or seven years relevant experience and a MS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical 
Focus).
 Possess Professional Engineering Licensure.
 Strong attention to detail and understanding of geotechnical engineering.
 Experience with geotechnical field work and construction earthwork.
 Strong organizational and time management skills combined with the flexibility to work 
with shifting priorities. 
 Desire and affinity for networking and business development.
 Awareness and general understanding of environmental considerations (i.e., 
contaminated soil and groundwater management during construction). 
 Client-service orientation with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver to meet 
expectations. 
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Work well as a team member, with a collaborative communication style.
