You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while supporting employees through various types of leave.
Administrative
- Provide People First white glove service by providing empathy, and compassionate support to all employees.
- Provide constant contact, helping employees by contacting via phone and video/ camera on conferencing as well as email when necessary.
- Proven ability to manage multiple leaves, work under pressure/deal with high stress situations, and resolve uncomfortable situations with employees and vendors, and do so while exercising sound judgement.
- Provide policy adherence, direction, and support Employees, Managers, and People Operations Business Partners with day-to-day time away/leaves of absence situations, along with vendor coordination support.
- Performs ongoing leave tracking, reporting, and audits.
- Maintain and recoup employee benefit premiums while away from work.
- Ensure new and upcoming state time away/leave of absence compliance.
- Additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Leave (Time Away)Management:
- Administer and manage the overall leave-of-absence programs and decision making, including FMLA, disability, and state-mandated leaves, and workers compensation by creating and updating policies and procedures in accordance with applicable state, local, and federal regulations.
- Leave Compliance, Data Analysis, Audits, and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations by keeping up to date with legal changes, conducting compliance audits, preparing reports, and providing guidance to leaders and employees on compliance-related issues.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of benefits/leave of absence programs to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage benefits/leave of absence consultants, leave administrator, and other vendors to ensure effective administration of plans.
- Administer and manage vendor and systems relationships to ensure records are maintained and transferred securely and seamlessly.
- Communication and Education:
- Develop communication materials to promote understanding and utilization of the benefits/ leave of absence programs.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and presentations to educate employees on benefits/ leave of absence options and changes.
- State Specific LOA Experience in: Texas, Washington, Colorado, Missouri and California, strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or applicable experience
- 5-10 years' subject matter experience in leave of absence/ multi-state paid leave administration
- State Specific LOA Experience in: Texas, Washington, Colorado, Missouri and California, strongly preferred.
- Mergers and acquisitions experience a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, organization, time management, problem solving, and follow-up skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and attention to detail desired
- Ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have accountability and self-motivation for projects in a remote/hybrid capacity.
