AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. (“AEGIS”) has an immediate opening for an Insurance Business Analyst to work closely with the data analytics team and business users to understand system requirements and assist in developing data solutions with our current data and analytics tools. The Business Analyst will monitor new requests and assist in the triage and oversight of the data lifecycle. The Business Analyst will work on designing and developing enterprise-wide data analysis and reporting solutions and work to test these solutions.
Job Requirements :
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Data Analyst
- Experience in property and casualty experience desired
- Experience that effectively demonstrates the following skills and abilities :
- Ability to liaise with source system teams to understand data lineage, resolve data origination issues, weed out and correct process and / or operational issues as well as partner on data initiatives for new source system enhancements.
- Ability to express and organize thoughts, ideas, and information in a logical and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
- Interpersonal skills that build and maintain professional relationships with customers and counterparts
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or other data related field
- Highly proficient in SQL querying and data profiling tools
- Working knowledge of dimensional databases & star schema model designs and concepts
- Working knowledge of Business Intelligence and Analytics tools and techniques

Research and Analysis
Responsible for business analysis and data analysis; ability to work independently with large datasets / extracts for analysis and inferences.Responsible for data analysis and providing insights into the data to the development team.Interview stakeholders to elicit business requirements and document the sameData Management and Reporting
Develop data mapping and transformation strategies to ensure seamless data integration and consistency between applications and the data warehouse.Review work requests and assist in the triage and assessment of work items.Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with the various teams (i.e., business, development, and QA) to ensure that tasks are handled and brought to closure in an efficient and timely manner.Gain an in-depth understanding of application functionality and the business processes supported by these applications. Perform quality assurance testing for reporting and analytics.Identify data issues and work with data specialists to identify the root cause.Provide user support / training in use of Dashboards, BI tools, and data marts.AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. participates in E-Verify.
We expect to pay a starting salary between $80,000 and $90,000. An applicant’s placement within this range is based on their individual qualifications and professional experience. In addition to base salary, AEGIS employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s annual incentive program, with competitive awards based on corporate and individual performance.
