What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packing Associate position at Aegis Manufacturing & Engineering?
The Production Packaging Operators are responsible for performing functions that support the overall manufacturing operations and other related activities that are necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
General
Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for duration of shift
Dispose of scrap into proper containers
Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
Flexible to quickly adapt to learning new tasks, moving to new areas to meet changing customer demands
Duties as assigned per Production Supervisor
Production Packaging Operator Functions
Empty scrap bins at vision system as necessary
Correct pallets that may need to be repackaged from bags falling in
Ensure all corrugate is removed from the floor
Interpretation of production schedules
OPS Tracker entries
Start/Stop PSG and answer alarms
Empty trash for all lines
Maintaining material supplies to machines
Packaging and labeling of WIP/Finished Goods
Stretch wrapping and storage of product
Dispose of scrap into proper containers
Skills
Basic math skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts, manual pallet jacks and bar code scanners
Basic computer skills
Experience
Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience in preferred
Education
High school diploma is preferred
