What are the responsibilities and job description for the Proficiency Testing Program Lead position at Aegis Sciences Corp?
The Proficiency Testing (PT) Program Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of proficiency testing, ranging from test kit receipt and setup to result analysis and reporting, are executed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards. The PT Program Lead will also manage the flow of PT samples through the laboratory, ensure timely remediation actions, and maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout the process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Proficiency Testing Kit Management:
- Receive and review proficiency testing kits, ensuring awareness of any changes, new analytes, or reporting rules.
- Create comprehensive PT setup templates for each kit, detailing approach, methods, codes, and other essential information to ensure consistent handling and accurate reporting.
Sample Management:
- Oversee the logging and flow of PT samples through the lab, ensuring timely processing and proper handling.
- Manage the reporting and submission of PT results to ensure deadlines are met and standards are adhered to.
Test Menu Maintenance:
- Maintain and update the lab’s proficiency testing menu, ensuring that it accurately reflects all testing capabilities and associated protocols.
- Review and update protocols and procedures in response to changes in the test menu or regulatory requirements.
Remediation Oversight:
- Monitor and manage remediation actions related to PT results, ensuring that all corrective actions are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with applicable standards.
Administrative Support:
- Handle administrative aspects of the PT program, including the tracking of results, preparation of reports, and management of relevant documentation.
- Ensure that all PT records are up-to-date and accurately maintained for compliance and auditing purposes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the PT program to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in proficiency testing.
A Successful Candidate Must Possess:
- Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field required; Must also hold Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician Licensure as well as ASCP or AMT MLT/MT certification
- (OR) Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field (with a minimum of 16 hours of chemistry and/or biological sciences coursework including at least 8 hours of general chemistry and/or upper level chemistry)
- A minimum of two (2) years of data certification or related experience in a laboratory environment required
- Expertise and experience working within laboratory information systems (LIMS) required
