A prominent manufacturing company in the metro Detroit area is seeking a Buyer to join their team for their Corporate Service Commodities. The Indirect Buyer is responsible for managing all aspects of indirect supplier relationships across categories such as IT, Travel, HR, SG&A, and other indirect materials and services as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for assigned commodity categories to ensure optimal procurement outcomes.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on trends and best practices related to indirect procurement.
- Execute the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, evaluating supplier proposals to identify the best solutions for organizational needs.
- Identify, assess, and develop strategic supply sources to support business objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships, addressing performance issues, resolving disputes, and driving continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand functional requirements and provide timely procurement support.
- Monitor key performance metrics and prepare regular reports for leadership.
- Support the organization’s general business needs and perform additional duties as required.
