A prominent manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Technician to join their team. This is a direct hire position! This position is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership to the assigned team members in assembly operations, encompassing both mechanical and electrical activities, according to planned timelines and priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct team members, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned build activities.
- Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for improvement in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
- Ensure operators are adequately trained and on schedule to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
- Meet production targets by assigning tasks to operators and collaborating with the Project Assembly Lead, utilizing a flexible approach and cross-trained team members.
- Ensure adherence to established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Assist management in hiring, training, counseling/disciplining, performance appraisal, and task prioritization for subordinates.
- Foster effective employee relations, providing coaching and development opportunities and resolving employee issues through problem resolution.
- Achieve positive results in areas of quality, productivity, cost, safety, morale, and continuous improvement activities.
- Monitor performance measures and provide regular progress reports to the manager.
- Ensure teams and team members have the necessary resources and training to accomplish tasks.
- Conduct individual and team coaching sessions to improve performance and recognize team accomplishments.
- Conduct accident investigations and support tracking absenteeism and time-keeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the direct manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education Requirements: High school diploma with specialized training in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and equipment safety operation.
- Preferred Education: College diploma in manufacturing.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of previous related experience in an assembly manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Additional Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
