Key Responsibilities:
Production Support and Process Improvement
- Continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity across all production activities.
- Develop new and enhance existing welding processes to meet production demands.
- Identify and implement projects aimed at reducing equipment downtime and environmental impact.
- Introduce automation and cutting-edge technologies to maintain and improve production efficiency.
- Increase production capacity to align with sales forecasts.
- Optimize material flow within the plant to reduce lead times and enhance safety.
- Manage improvement projects by overseeing schedules, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Welding-Specific Responsibilities
- Design welded assembly fixtures with a focus on quality, durability, and serviceability. Proficiency in creating detailed designs and drawings is a plus.
- Address product quality issues through the interpretation of part drawings and inspection reports while understanding part-to-fixture relationships.
- Investigate, install, and optimize welding equipment to improve process efficiency.
- Support automation initiatives by transitioning manual welding processes to automated operations.
- Serve as a technical expert in welding processes, proactively addressing safety, quality, and productivity concerns.
- Collaborate daily with production associates and equipment suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with automated GMAW equipment, such as Motoman robots, is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, including welding, cutting, turning, and milling.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply precise measurement methods.
- Hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise for equipment and processes.
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including the ability to create detailed reports and justifications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across all organizational levels.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering preferred).
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing or production engineering.
Salary : $70,000 - $78,000
