Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the manufacturing team to achieve production goals, timelines, and quality standards.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient execution of production plans and resource coordination.
- Monitor production metrics and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
- Ensure all products meet quality specifications and are manufactured in accordance with approved procedures.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address non-conformances, deviations, and complaints.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) to optimize processes and eliminate waste.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and improve product quality.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting production challenges and implementing engineering-aligned solutions.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs for production machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance team to diagnose and resolve mechanical and technical issues efficiently.
- Manage equipment repairs, calibrations, and replacements to ensure continuous production operations.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to manufacturing staff to foster a high-performance culture.
- Promote a workplace culture anchored in respect, dignity, and company values.
- Develop and implement training programs on lean practices, safety, and equipment operations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support career growth for team members.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and fair application in employee management.
- Promote workplace safety by enforcing HSE standards, conducting safety audits, and managing risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations in all manufacturing activities.
- Assist in preparing and managing the production budget while ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality or regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment- ideally within the Medical Device or life sciences industries, but other backgrounds will be considered.
- Proven experience in leading lean production initiatives and improving manufacturing processes.
- Strong background in mechanical and industrial engineering with the ability to translate engineering designs into efficient manufacturing processes.
