The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with hands-on experience in the manufacturing sector. This individual will be responsible for managing plant-level financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, cost analysis, and providing valuable insights to support the plant’s financial health and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the plant, ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on plant performance, including key metrics such as cost of goods sold, inventory, labor costs, and overhead.
- Conduct variance analysis, identifying and investigating discrepancies between actual and budgeted performance, and recommending corrective actions.
- Manage and reconcile inventory, including tracking raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods, ensuring proper valuation and costing.
- Assist with the preparation of standard cost updates and maintain accurate cost structures for products manufactured at the plant.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure accurate allocation of labor, material, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with plant management and corporate finance to prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and highlight potential risks or opportunities.
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to internal controls in all financial processes to safeguard the plant’s assets.
- Assist with internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and supporting audit inquiries.
- Utilize ERP systems to maintain accurate financial data and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency at the plant.
- Provide training and guidance to plant staff on financial procedures and best practices.
- Partner with plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes and cost control measures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or similar certifications are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance within the manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of cost accounting and plant operations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing cost structures, financial reporting, and inventory management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing-specific accounting standards.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Full-time position based at the plant location.
- Occasional travel to other facilities or corporate offices may be required
