Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor. This role ensures that all manufacturing processes meet company standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will manage a team of production workers, ensure that production targets are met, and work collaboratively with other departments such as Quality Control, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to optimize workflow and resolve any issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of production workers, including scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Production Monitoring: Ensure that production schedules are followed and that daily, weekly, and monthly production goals are met.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality Control department to ensure that products meet industry and customer quality standards. Address any defects or non-conformances promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and lead safety training initiatives to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, implement process improvements, and work towards optimizing production efficiency and reducing waste.
- Inventory & Materials Management: Ensure adequate supply of raw materials and components to meet production demands, coordinating with the Materials and Supply Chain teams as needed.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and troubleshoot any production bottlenecks, machine malfunctions, or personnel issues that impact output. Coordinate with Maintenance for timely repairs.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular production reports, including performance metrics, downtime, and production efficiency.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality Control teams to ensure seamless operations and support the development of new automotive products.
Requirements:
- Education: Associates or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3 years of supervisory experience in automotive or related manufacturing industry.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in production planning, process improvement, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma or similar certifications preferred.
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
