Job Title: Project Engineer – Packaging Equipment

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Engineer with expertise in packaging equipment and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead and execute projects involving the design, installation, and optimization of packaging systems, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role requires strong technical skills, exceptional project management capabilities, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects related to the design, installation, and commissioning of packaging equipment, including conveyors, labeling machines, fillers, and robotic systems.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources to meet project objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, operations, maintenance, and vendors, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee and review packaging equipment specifications, layouts, and performance to meet operational requirements and standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to packaging machinery during installation and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements during project planning and implementation.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution, adjusting plans and schedules as needed.
  • Manage procurement of materials and equipment, coordinating with suppliers and vendors to meet project timelines.
  • Conduct testing and validation of packaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
  • Prepare and present project updates, reports, and documentation to stakeholders and management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required.
  • Proven experience (5 years) managing and executing projects involving packaging equipment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of packaging machinery, including installation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on delivering practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with automation and robotics used in packaging systems.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience with CAD software for designing layouts and system modifications.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards and safety requirements for packaging equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including standing for extended periods and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites (up to 25%, depending on project needs).
