Quality Inspector – 1st Shift (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Harwood Heights, IL
Projected Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (with the option for overtime until 4:30 p.m.)
Overtime: Up to 10 hours per week (flexible, but generally 2 hours per day)
Salary: $21/hr - $26/hr
Contract Type: 6-month Contract-to-Hire
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our team on 1st shift. This is a contract-to-hire role with the very high potential for permanent employment after 6 months. The Quality Inspector will play an essential role in ensuring that products meet strict quality standards through receiving, in-process, and final inspections. This position requires attention to detail and hands-on experience with quality control tools.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections using tools like micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparators, and more.
- Verify that incoming materials meet certification documentation, including correct material revision and specifications.
- Review and approve material and special process certifications.
- Document inspections, non-conformities, and quality issues accurately in the ERP system.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and ensure compliance with quality procedures and control plans.
- Interpret and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
- Cross-check items with certification documentation to verify accuracy.
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) as needed (experience a plus).
Must-Have Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2-5 years of experience in a quality-related role within manufacturing.
- Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other basic inspection tools.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong attention to detail, especially with certification paperwork.
- Experience with first-piece or in-process inspection, preferably in a precision or aerospace-related environment.
- Basic math skills and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents.
- Experience documenting inspections and inputting data into ERP systems.
Additional Information:
- The company will be closed from December 20 – January 2
- Flexible overtime options are available, with the possibility of up to 10 hours a week.
