Job Title: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Wytheville, VA (Relocation package)
Pay: $110k-$135k/yr BONUS
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize our end-to-end supply chain operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for forecasting inventory needs, ordering raw materials, coordinating with production managers for seamless machine changeovers, and ensuring on-time delivery to clients. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at balancing cost efficiency with operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management & Procurement:
- Monitor and forecast inventory levels to ensure optimal stock of raw materials.
- Develop and implement demand planning strategies to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Manage supplier relationships to negotiate cost-effective pricing and ensure timely deliveries.
- Work closely with procurement teams to source quality materials at competitive rates.
Production Coordination & Scheduling:
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to align raw material availability with production schedules.
- Ensure smooth machine changeovers by coordinating material readiness and workflow adjustments.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks to maintain optimal production output.
Logistics & Order Fulfillment:
- Plan and execute efficient warehousing, distribution, and transportation strategies.
- Oversee shipping schedules to ensure finished goods reach clients on time.
- Work with freight carriers and third-party logistics providers to optimize delivery efficiency and costs.
- Track shipments and proactively communicate any delays or issues to clients.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, procurement, logistics, and production planning.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
