Job Description :
Our client is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a full-time position in Northern NJ . This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be able to work for any employer without visa transfer.
This role is responsible for recording cash, responding to inquiries and collections for Vertical co-insurers, monthly billing of bordereau and / or revolving funds, and reporting or exhibits required by Management and Underwriters. Further responsibilities are listed below :
Daily entry of cash to Receivable System :
o Clear receivables
o Post advances received on specific claims, notify the claims department of funds received
o Release payments on the Slow Pay queue where applicable
o Post-revolving funds received on specific policies
Answer co-insurer's inquiries with reference to the bordereau or problems regarding Vertical Line accounts
Create monthly bordereau billings and revolving fund billings to co-insurers
Send refund checks on overpayments, credits due on Bordereau, and adjustment of funds requested
Receivables reporting to meet other department's special requests
Revolving fund analysis and recommendations made monthly for upcoming policy renewals
Complete corrections for out-of-balance accounts when monthly reconciliations of General Ledger to Vertical System balances are presented
Qualifications
Education :
Minimum of an associate's degree in accounting or finance. A four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
Skills / Experience :
2-4 years of Accounts Receivable experience.
P&C insurance accounting and / or understanding of insurance financial concepts and data is a plus.
General understanding of Accounting Principles and processes.
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve billing, collections, allocation, and data issues.
Strong analytical and accounting skills.
Must demonstrate an orientation to results, ownership, and accountability of tasks and deliverables.
Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external constituents and prioritize tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Team player as well as the ability to work independently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
