We are currently looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team on a fixed term contract in Edinburgh. Our Financial Reporting team are responsible for the preparation and analysis of group reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
What you will be responsible for:
- Working with financial information providers, business units and third parties you will assist with quarterly preparation of consolidated IFRS and regulatory reporting.
- Assisting with the preparation of annual statutory accounts and with the preparation of other group and external regulatory submissions e.g. FCA returns and ICARA.
- Facilitating continuous improvement across the financial reporting team, driving reporting developments as necessary.
- Ensure that all preparation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Complete workload to an auditable standard and follow SOX processes.
- Use your interpersonal skills to build relationships both internally and externally across Aegon UK.
- Strong expertise in monthly and quarterly preparation of consolidation reporting.
- Exposure and knowledge of the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
- Qualified accountant such as CA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Strong proven track record of working in a similar role within a financial services or professional firm environment.
- Well organised you will be comfortable working in a fast-changing environment.
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels you should be able to build relationships quickly.
- A non-contributory pension between 8%-12%.
- A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance.
- 27 days leave per year (plus 9 bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time).
