Financial Reporting Accountant

12 month fixed term contract

Location: Edinburgh (typically 2 days in the office per week, 3 from home)

Salary: A competitive salary from £41,680 – £62,520, depending on the experience you can bring

We are currently looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team on a fixed term contract in Edinburgh. Our Financial Reporting team are responsible for the preparation and analysis of group reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Working with financial information providers, business units and third parties you will assist with quarterly preparation of consolidated IFRS and regulatory reporting.
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual statutory accounts and with the preparation of other group and external regulatory submissions e.g. FCA returns and ICARA.
  • Facilitating continuous improvement across the financial reporting team, driving reporting developments as necessary.
  • Ensure that all preparation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete workload to an auditable standard and follow SOX processes.
  • Use your interpersonal skills to build relationships both internally and externally across Aegon UK.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong expertise in monthly and quarterly preparation of consolidation reporting.
  • Exposure and knowledge of the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
  • Qualified accountant such as CA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Strong proven track record of working in a similar role within a financial services or professional firm environment.
  • Well organised you will be comfortable working in a fast-changing environment.
  • Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels you should be able to build relationships quickly.
