Job Title: Electrical Inspector
Work Location: New York, In Person.
Work Remotely: No.
Job Type: Full-Time.
Schedule: Monday to Friday. Weekends as needed.
Ability to Relocate: New York, NY: Relocate before starting work (required).
Job Summary:
We seek an Electrical Inspector to ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards on infrastructure
projects. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work
independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Job Purpose:
● Ensures electrical work conforms to approved contract documents by preparing daily inspection
reports identifying status of work and observations.
● Ensures quality by conducting inspections and tests as per specifications and code requirements.
Duties:
● Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and wiring for compliance with codes and regulations.
● Inspects and tests of new, existing and modified electrical installations; lighting, transformers,
switches, panel boards, grounding, bonding, lighting fixtures etc..
● Prepares daily reports with observations, correction notices and deficiencies as needed.
● Wears safety equipment / PPE at all times.
● Communicates effectively the findings with the Electrical Contractor and General Contractor.
Skills/Qualifications:
Technical
● Minimum: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
● Considered: Degree in Electrical Engineering.
● Considered: BSCE graduates with EIT.
● Required: 2-10 years of experience.
● Required: Knowledge of NFPA 70 / National Electrical Code (NEC).
● Required: Basic math skills.
● Required: Strong oral and written communication skills.
Physical Demands
● Long-term standing, repetitive motions, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
● Ability to handle, finger, feel, reach, climb ladders, balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel, and sit.
● Vision and smell requirements: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and focus.
● Must have a vehicle and be with the electrical subcontractor at all times of the shift.
Work Environment:
● Active construction sites and exposure to outside weather conditions.
