Provide general accounting support, including the preparation and review of journal entries and other accounting activity related to the general ledger closing process for AEP companies.Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the general ledger accounting functions, including journal entry preparation and review, general ledger account reconciliations, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, balance sheet reviews and detailed account activity analysis.
- Participate in the monthly accounting closing process, including the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and year-to- date account variance analyses.
- Provide assistance in the review and analyze monthly account activity for accuracy, support and financial integrity.
- Assist in the preparation and review of FERC financial reports on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements, accompanying footnotes and MD&A.
- Involved in the preparation of internal management reports.
- Respond to data requests from internal and external auditors.
- Provide appropriate support and analysis of AEP regulatory filings and proceedings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Accountant
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with a concentration in Accounting.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience.
Accountant Senior
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with a concentration in Accounting.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience.
